FOUNDLING GLASS 2019 THE COMMERCIAL LIMERICK

When I was living in Brooklyn I found a large panel of glass on the street outside my apartment, I had worked on glass successfully in college and thought I could do something with this seemingly rubbish. I took this glass into my very small bedroom and with some cheap furniture paint, I started to paint on the glass using a long sewing needle. this first painting took 3 days mostly working on the only flat suffice I had to use. I had not made any art in a few years this one-piece rekindled my love of creating. Since this, I worked on glass pieces for over 2 years. I got some of the panels on the street and others in a reclamation yard. In the two years, I made about 20 successful painting. In 2017 I decided to move home for good. This decision had many effects I wanted to ship home the work I made, but only a few where viable. (The pieces that were too big I gave to friends) My boss Sal and friend Kadri build me a crate to protect the art while shipping.

it was collected a month before I left and delivered to Ireland.

In 2019 I put on an exhibition of my Brooklyn work in the Commerical Bar Limerick, (they had a second-floor space that I used as a gallery). Then again I got a lot of help with friends and family to make it happen. Photos underneath are both from the exhibition and studio shots.
